Objects & Sculpture

When I started turning in the 1980s, I started making sculptural objects. Woodturning is so quick it allowed me to move quickly through ideas of form and structure. Utilizing the vast amount of scrap in my shop I was free to play with many technical ideas. The production work that had allowed me to develop skills and make a living also allowed lots of time to think. Thinking led me to grad school at the age of 52. Grad school helped me add concept to my practice and made the pursuit of sculptural objects more compelling than my production work.
